Welcome to my page. I’m Dr Catriona Boffard, an accredited clinical psychosexologist, psychotherapist, EMDR therapist, sexuality researcher and speaker. I help people navigate intimate aspects of themselves and their relationships, from sex and intimacy, to mental health, neurodiversity and trauma.
I see clients in-person in Cape Town, South Africa and London, England. I also consult to clients online so anyone can access support with me no matter your location.
I’m a neurodiversity-affirming and gender-affirming therapist, (and neurodivergent myself), so all bodies, brains, identities and relationships are welcome here.
We all have stories about who we are, how we relate to others, and what we believe about ourselves. These stories are shaped by our experiences, our relationships, and the world around us. Some help us feel connected, confident and understood. Others can leave us feeling stuck, disconnected or unsure of how to move forward.
I’m fascinated by people’s stories. Not simply what has happened to us, but how we make sense of those experiences, the meaning we give them, and how they influence our relationships, intimacy and sense of self.
As a psychotherapist, clinical sexologist and researcher, my work is grounded in curiosity, connection and the belief that understanding our experiences can open up possibilities for change.
Whether I’m working with individuals and couples in therapy, or facilitating conversations through workshops and corporate events, my approach is to make complex, often difficult subjects feel more accessible. I bring together psychological research, clinical experience and real human stories to encourage reflection, challenge assumptions and create space for conversations that matter.
