When most people think of therapy, the stereotypical image that comes to mind is that of lying on a couch talking while the therapist silently takes notes about your concerns. The therapy I offer is not like this.
I try to create a warm, safe and empathic professional space for all of my clients throughout therapy.
I am trained integratively, meaning that I draw from different approaches to best assist my clients with their concerns and reach their goals, and I firmly believe that there is no one-size-fits-all model. Although I have specialist training in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), I draw from this integrative approach to best help my clients. CBT is an evidence-based approach for treating mental health concerns which examines the interactions between our thoughts, behaviours and emotions. It has been found to be a highly effective therapeutic method for treating common concerns such as depression, generalised anxiety, and even phobias. Originating from CBT, I also use approaches such as acceptance & commitment, mindfulness, compassion-focused therapy, as well as other approaches such as attachment, emotion focused, systemic, person-centred and brain working recursive therapy. Therapy is collaborative, meaning that I work with you to achieve your goals.
